The Fifth Robert Iles Memorial Lecture: Peter Kurti – Recovering the Christian Roots of Western Civilisation
You are invited to attend the Fifth Robert Iles Memorial Lecture entitled Reason, Repentance, and the Individual: Recovering the Christian Roots of Western Civilisation.
The speaker will be Rev. Peter Kurti, Research Fellow at the Religion and Civil Society Centre for Independent Studies, Sydney. Peter is a leading voice in church and culture, the future of society and freedom of expression, with degrees in law, theology and philosophy. He is an ordained Anglican minister, who has worked with a variety of congregations, and the university sector, as well as writing for the Spectator, the Australian and recently appearing on the ABC’s Q&A.
The event will be held on Wednesday, 18th October, 2017 at Burnside City Uniting Church, starting at 7:30pm.
This lecture fits in well with the purpose of the Robert Iles Memorial Trust, which is to celebrate and promote the Christian faith within Australian society and engage with the culture of the day and to bring a biblical perspective to contemporary public issues in society and the world.
We hope to see as many of you there as possible for this important lecture.
